Discoveries!!
So I found this new set of blogs while accidentally trying to find a particular picture of Rachel Bilson. Anyways, they're run by Frankie and Tallulah, and they have their self-titled blog as well as another, Whimiscal Thoughts. Anyways, the Frankie and Tallulah blog has quite a bit more in it, and basically what they do is post papparazi photos of celebrities such as the cast of Gossip Girl, Kirsten Dunst, Mischa Barton, The Olsen Sisters, Nicole Richie, and various models such as Coco Rocha and Agyness Deyn. They also post some editorials, and do trend watches. There will be both the hyperlinks in this post and I'm also adding links to both blogs on my side-bar.

Bahaha. okay. Its time for a funny story regarding these photos, because I haven't had a funny story to tell in a while. These were taken in Mountain Equipment Co-Op. Now, those that know me know that I have no reason to me in MEC because I am unathletic and I am not exactly your out-doorsy adventerous type. Anyways, back to why we were there, Kelsey had bought a backpack for her trip to Europe and when she got it home she realized there was a little hole in it from like, the knife when people were unpacking the boxes or whatever, so we went to return it. Well, her mum was in a rush, and there was nobody helping us at a decent pace so Kelsey gave her car keys to her mum and she went off to pick up her sister and was going to come get us after. Well, here we were, it was raining outside, so we decided to go camping in one of the display tents, and we probably spend a good hour in there, and it seemed like we scared pretty much anyone who came by looking to buy the tent because they didn't realize that we were in it. And really, we're not scary. We just kind of chilled and texted people and I drew Donnovan a picture and stuff. Anyways, wrapping this up, it was a pretty cozy tent which I'm going to make Kelsey purchase when she's all rich and whatnot from modelling so that I can live in her living room in it.

There are a couple of reasons why I love Blake Lively.
First of all, she’s not on the cover of the rags every week (however, she WAS on the cover of Nylon last month). This may or may not be partially due to the fact that she has never been to rehab, had naked photos or a sex tape featuring her released, or been charged with a DUI or assault. The closest thing she’s had to scandal is her nose job before she filmed Accepted, which, ironically, isn’t that noticeable (maybe I should ask her who her plastic surgeon is).
Secondly, I’ve been reading the Gossip Girl series since I was twelve like some kids read Harry Potter. Its like, there’s not a new book out? I’ll start the series all over again, and hands down, my favorite character in the series is none other than Blake’s character, Serena Van Der Woodsen. So you can imagine how upset I was when I heard that Lindsay Lohan was up for the role of Serena Van Der Woodsen in the TV show that aired this past season. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against L.Lo, but she’s really not imaginable as ANY character of Gossip Girl, especially not Serena, who, in the books, is given an image as a tarnished saint that simply is beautiful enough to attract attention wherever she goes. Lindsay attracts attraction, but in all of the anti-Serena ways. Those who have read the series know what I’m talking about. Lindsay was eventually offered the part of Blair Waldorf, much to my dismay, but she turned it down for reasons that remain unknown to me. Blake Lively, while not outstandingly beautiful in a generic way (she’s tall, not so skinny that it sickens me, and has a big nose), has this like, aura to her. She’s like, one of those people you go out of your way to make happy because you just don’t want to see her upset. She has probably one of the cutest smiles I’ve ever seen. Even though she still manages to be pretty when acting upset. Like, I dunno, she’s just the type of person that you WANT to watch.
Another reason might be her acting skills. Does anyone other than me remember her from her Accepted Days? Or even further back: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants? Like, she can actually act, she’s not some Disney star who’s had everything handed to her on a silver platter even though she’s talent less in the acting field (see: Hilary Duff, Miley Cyrus, ect.). In the past year Blake has been nominated for three Teen choice awards and has won one award as the Newport Beach Film Festival. Not bad for your first year in the spotlight. And like, seriously, even if she couldn’t act she could probably get away with this career, because, well, have you seen her smile? She’s like my pug, too damn cute to say no to.
The last reason I’m going to post is just kind of personal. If you know me, you know that my life absolutely revolves around fashion. Blake Lively is probably on the top of my list of fashion influences right now. She somehow manages to look good all the time without having these like, crazy complicated outfits that take me eons to figure out. Basically, she dresses a lot like what I try and pull off. She works with a limited color palette a lot of the time, mostly blues and blacks and whites, and when she dresses up she doesn’t always take it too far like some stars manage to do, and she keeps it classy. She just wears a lot of basics, and honestly, is there even a logical way to fuck up wearing a fitted plain white blouse? Honestly, a lot of people should take a note out of her book. But I don’t want to put the fashion critics out of business either.
